This statement applies to the Marine Aquarium Society of Sydney Inc (MASS) and its website (www.mass.asn.au).
The Association collects members' personal details and maintains a database to manage membership, in accordance with the requirements of the NSW Associations Incorporation Act 2009
The following points address our policy on personal privacy;
The Association will never sell or give away personal member information.
Any information provided to the Association by members in addition to personal and demographic data required for membership will only be used to assist the Association in providing and enhancing membership services and collectively to report on the progress of the Association.
The MASS website collects personal information that you choose to give us, for example your email address, as well as collecting information about our users browsing activities (browser, IP, cookies). From time to time the Association conducts surveys which, except where you identify yourself, will be treated anonymously and or in aggregate with other survey responses.
We will not attempt to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect our logs.
We only use your personal information for the purposes for which you gave it to us.
We do not share information about you with other agencies or other organisations without your permission unless it:
- is necessary to provide you with a service that you have requested;
- is necessary to complete an activity that you have chosen to undertake; or
- is required or authorised by law;
We analyse non-identifiable website traffic data to improve our services.
You may gain access to personal information about you that we hold. You can have us correct any errors or delete the information we have about you.
You may opt out of any further contact from us.
To protect your privacy and the privacy of others, we may have to gain evidence of your identity before we can give you access to information about you or change it.
